Taking a risk is easier said than done. Fear is a powerful emotion that can push away from taking steps outside of our comfort zone. However, the people who are able to take that daring step out into the unknown tend to reap the rewards of their venture.
Dov Perew was one of these people. He took a leap of faith to reach success and it has paid off for him in more ways than one! He went from working a nine to five job day in and day out to make big moves in the business world.
“I always wanted to be an entrepreneur and own my own business ever since I was little. Took lots of risks early on and ended up at a 9-5 in corporate america. After a year and a half, I was fed up and sick and tired of it. Ended up starting a wholesaling business for distress properties as well as online marketing; primarily on instagram as well as facebook ads for small businesses. With the help of a friend I became very successful with wholesaling. In my free time, I would work on my online marketing business and scale that up on the side,” Dov recounts.
What helped Dov take this leap was learning to understand his fear. For many people, they see fear as an indication to not do something. In other words, their instincts telling them that something is dangerous or wrong. For Dov Perew, he sees it more as a misunderstanding more than anything else.
“Fear to me ultimately indicates misunderstanding. Whenever I find myself fearing something, it always is due to me not fully understanding something about the thing I fear. Fear is real, fear is valid, but with this mindset of fear, I use it to my advantage to seek further understanding and information about the thing or event I fear. Ultimately lowering my fear or wiping it away completely,” Dov remarks.
His advice for those that are looking to do the same thing as him is to find something they are passionate about and allow that passion to guide you through the obstacles.
“Find something that you’re passionate about, don’t just go into an industry because you want money. At the end of the day if you’re just in it for the money you will not last. You will fail,” Dov advises.
Dov has many exciting plans set up for the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022. He is looking forward to getting down in the nitty gritty of business and growing his business past what he thought was possible. In addition, he details some of his other future ventures:
“Besides growing my business, I would like to further expand my influence and words of advice to others getting started in entrepreneurship. I desire to start a new blog, podcast, and other sources of free information to further spread my journey and experience.”
